Hansen, Debra Theresa (13 April 1980)

Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard served as the early afternoon, April 13, site for the sharing of wedding vows between Debra Theresa Hansen and Kenneth Ronald Ortner. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Francis E. Hansen, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Ortner, all of Rt. 1 Willard.

The Rev. James Lescynski officiated at the ceremonies with the parents of the bride presenting her to the altar. Rod and Karen Friedrichsen and Debra Volovsek offered special music.

Deidra Hansen, a sister of the bride from Willard, was maid of honor. She was joined in the bride’s party by Alyssa Boe, a cousin of the bride from Greenwood, and Rita Ortner, the groom’s sister from Willard.

The bride chose a gown of imported organza with long, tapered sleeves, empire waistline and high neck. The bottom of the dress and the bodice were accented by motifs of Alencon lace. She caried a bouquet of daisies and carnations.

Serving as bestman was Steve Ortner, a cousin of the groom from Dunkerton, Iowa. He was joined in the groom’s attendants by John Mayenschein, a friend from Greenwood, and Charles Ortner, the groom’s brother from Willard. Ushering were Douglas Hansen and Joseph Ortner, brothers of the couple from Willard.

Following the rites, a reception and meal was held at the parish with a dance later at the Westside Hall in Willard. Prenuptial events included a wedding shower hosted by Mrs. Rick Opelt.

With the couple making their home near Willard, the bride is 1978 graduate of Greenwood High School and is a bookkeeper at the First National Bank in Neillsville. The groom attended the same high school and is employed by Susa’s Store in Willard.
