Scharf, Faye Ellen (7 June 1980)

The Rev. Maynard Stokka of Zion American Lutheran Church of Granton officiated at the wedding of Faye Ellen Scharf and Kevin Eric Klein in Saturday early afternoon, June 7, ceremonies. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Scharf, Rt. 1 Granton. Her father presented her to the altar and her new husband. The groom, an El Toro, California resident and which will be the couple’s new home, is the son of Kenneth Klein of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Elaine Borland of Cresco, Iowa.

Tami Scharf, a sister of the bride from Granton, was maid of honor. Joining her in the bride’s party were Delia Gorst, a friend of the bride from Granton, and Koreen Klein, the groom’s sister from Cresco.

Steve Foye, an Arena friend of the groom, was the bestman. He was joined by Kenneth Klein, Jr., of Milwaukee and Lawrence Roch of Sheboygan Falls, both brothers of the groom. Ushering were Alan Scharf, Granton brother of the bride, and Mike Lila, a friend of the couple from Plover.

Ed Gibbons as soloist and Joanne Grassman as organist offered, “The Wedding Song” and “Longer” as the musical selections.

The bride chose a polyester knit gown featuring lace trim, empire waist, key-hole neckline and a hat with floor-length veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses, miniature white carnations and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore light blue, floor-length gowns with matching fringed capes and blue hats. They carried long stemmed red roses. The groom wore a brown-trimmed, white tuxedo while his attendants wore brown tuxedos trimmed in white.

Following the formal wedding ceremonies, a reception dinner was held at the Wildcat Inn in Neillsville and a dance followed at the Granton Sportsmen’s Club.

The bride is a 1980 graduate of Granton High School and was formerly employed by Mallegni’s of Neillsville. The groom is a 1977 graduate of LaSalle Peru High School, is presently in the U.S. Marine Corps and is stationed at El Toro. The couple left on a trip to southern California.
