Sokolowski, Leo (24 Jan 1899 – 29 Jul 1974)

Leo Sokolowski, 75, died at Victory Memorial Hospital on Monday, July 29, 1974 of a heart condition and double pneumonia. Funeral services were conducted at St. Bernard’s Church on Wednesday, July 31 at ten a.m., with Father Bill Buchman officiating. Burial was made in St. Hedwig’s New Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald Palmer, Dan Palmer, Greg Palmer, Joe Benzschawel, Bob Zukowski and Tony Pajak.

Leo, a retired farmer, was born January 23, 1899 in Chicago. He farmed in the town of Reseburg and retired there also. He was in the Thorp Care Center during the month of July.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Sokolowski, three sisters, Martha Kulczyk, Amanda Kubera, Veronica Dulek, and four brothers, Ben, Stanley, Brown and Frank.
