Ewert, Jeffery Allen (26 July 1944 – 31 December 2021)

Jeffery Allen Ewert (77) of Rockford, IL passed away surrounded by his family on December 30th, 2021. He was born July 26, 1944, in Spencer, to Arlyn and Helen (Ampe) Ewert. Jeff married Sally Potocnik on June 5th, 1965, in Owen.

Jeff graduated from Colby High School in Colby. He followed this with his Associates in Electronic Technology in 1963 from Wausau Technical Institute. In 1979 he graduated from Rock Valley College with his Associate of Arts-Liberal Arts. He worked as an Electronic Technician at GKN (formerly Rockford Powertrain), Timken (formerly GMN) and Sundstrand & Sundstrand Machine Tool over his career.

Jeff enjoyed many hobbies including attending geology seminars and trade shows, listening to classical music, playing cards, and reading. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, taking motorcycle trips all over the US and cruising abroad. Jeff loved a good pizza pie and even traveled the US trying to find the best. Jeff had an eye for the unique; from craft beers and wine to fine works of arts. His diverse knowledge and love for a new challenge will be missed by those who knew him.

He was predeceased by his mother, Helen (Ampe) Ewert (April 14th, 2005) and his father, Arlyn Ewert (July 23, 2018).

He is loved and missed by his wife, Sally (Potocnik) Ewert; daughter, Rhonda Ewert; grandchildren, Katelan (Hall) & Michael Hunter and Matthew & Hailie Hall; great grandchild, Avary Hall; sister, Sandrea (Ewert) & Jerry Timm; brother, Bradley Ewert; numerous nieces and nephews.
