Arthur Ackerman, route 2, Neillsville, has been selected “Watershed Man of the Year.”

Ackerman will receive an award for outstanding contributions to conservation at the 21st Annual Wisconsin Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (WACD) Conference, December 3-5, 1974, in Cable, according to E.O. Baker, University of Wisconsin Extension soil and water conservation specialist.

Ackerman has been involved with the development of the Poplar River Watershed since its organization in 1966. As a member of the SWCD governing board and the Finance Committee of the Clark County Board, he has worked to secure financing for the necessary land rights.
