St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the Saturday early evening, July 5, site for the sharing of wedding vows between Norma Jean Kopp and Dennis Robert Stargardt. Parents of the couple are Mrs. Lavern Kopp, Rt. 4 Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. William Stargardt, Owen.

The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at the ceremonies. The bride’s mother presented her to the altar.

Robin Hemmingson, a friend of the bride from Bradley, S.D., was maid of honor. She was joined by Mrs. Carl Gehrt, a friend of the bride from Loyal, and Mrs. Tim Gaffney, sister of the groom from Withee.

Carl Stargardt, the groom’s brother from Neillsville, was the bestman. He was assisted by Carl Gehrt, a friend of the bride from Loyal, and Tim Gaffney, the groom’s brother-in-law from Neillsville. Ushering were Michael Poziombke, a friend of the bride from Neillsville, and Gene Stargardt, the groom’s brother from Owen.

“The Lord’s Prayer” was the special musical offering by Mrs. Paul Tess during the ceremonies. Paul Tess also offered organ selections of “March Nuptial” and “March Triumphant.”

Following the ceremonies, a reception, hosted by Mrs. Michael Poziomke, and dance was held at the Clark County Sportsmen’s Club in Granton. (Prenuptial events included a linen shower hosted by the groom’s parents.)

The bride chose a floor-length gown of sheer organza and Chantilly lace appliques which featured a scoop neckline, empire bodice lace ruffled sleeves with Chantilly lace cuffs. Her A-line skirt had a flounce trim of Chantilly lace with a ruffled cathedral train. She carried a cascading bouquet of red roses, white mums and baby’s breath.

The bride’s attendants chose red, floor-length gowns with red chiffon capes. They carried white baskets filled with white roses and white mums. The groom’s attire was white tuxedo jacket, trimmed in black, and featuring a black vest and trousers. His attendants wore black tuxedos.

The bride is a 1966 graduate of Neillsville High School. The groom is a 1973 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and in 1975 from Rice Lake Technical Institute. He is employed by Pioneer Pole Construction of Stratford. The couple will make their home on Rt. 4 Neillsville.
