Kaczmarcik, Marie F. (6 Sep 1949 – 5 Jan 2022)

Marie F. Kaczmarcik, age 72, of Thorp, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at Aspirus Stanley Hospital in Stanley, WI. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services will be held at a later date, with interment in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Marie Florence Marek was born on September 6, 1949 at Victory Memorial Hospital, in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Walter and Sophie (Pabich) Marek. She was raised on the family farm, was educated at area schools, and graduated from Thorp High School in 1967. After completing her I education, Marie B moved to Chicago H and held several jobs, before traveling extensively across Eastern and Southern Europe. In the early 1980's, Marie lived in Casper, WY, and worked for Clarke Equipment in their parts department. She returned to Thorp and worked for the Stanley-Boyd School District as a teacher's aide. Marie later worked in home health care, and was a cook around the Thorp area for many years.

She enjoyed reading books and good music.

Marie is survived by her two sons: Josh (Michelle) Kaczmarcik of Bloomer, WI., and Jacob Kaczmarcik of Greenwood, WI.; two grandchildren: Roman and Camila Kaczmarcik; one sister: Caroline (Gary) Pioske of Minnetonka, MN.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Gertrude Witkus, Christine Cottongim and Frances Skwierczynski; and one brother: Anthony Marek,
