Zona A. Edblom, age 99, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Colby Retirement Community.

Zona was born on June 22, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Schaefer) Will in Colby. She was united in marriage to Arlyn Edblom in 1941 at Unity Church. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2010. Zona helped farm, clerked in local stores, was head cook at Colby Grade School and helped build new houses with her husband at Edblom Carpentry.

Zona and Arlyn’s passion was polka dancing throughout WI, MN and Iowa. She lived in two centuries, so January 15th we had a Two Century Dance for her. Zona danced six dances at the age of 99 and 7 months with her two daughters, Colene and Bernie Stuttgen of Thorp and Carol Duvall and Ron Robida of Dorchester. Also dancing and enjoying were her grandchildren: Tammy Kirsch of Edgar, Tim Duvall of Colby, Dr. Jay (Donna) Stuttgen of Milladore, Jan (Rod) Brockman of Babcock and Joel (Karen) Stuttgen of Fall Creek; along with great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlyn; son-in-law, Allen Duvall; grandson, Thomas Kirsch and brothers and sister.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. Rev. Amy Heinz will officiate. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
