Twelve of 16 forensic students from Neillsville High School will move on to district competition at UW-Eau Claire on March 28. The winners earned the trip in a March 13 contest in Loyal in which students from Neillsville joined others from Loyal, Thorp, Colby and Owen-Withee.

Earning “A” rankings were Kevin Halverson and Wendy Vysoky, prose; Brendan Jenks and Chris Karstens, poetry; James Voss, four-minute speech; Lynn Meihack and Virginia Kuhn, story-telling; Rick Sprague and Mike Kirsch, extemporaneous speech; and Gina Haines, Rhonda Trimberger and Marie Nagy, declamation.

Others competing were Loren Jenks, poetry; Joyce Jordahl, prose; and Karrie Stoss and Carey Strangfeld, play acting.

Accompanying the students and serving as their coaches were John Schermitzler and Jim Waracheck, faculty members.
