Rodolf, Francis (23 September 1891 – 14 March 1981)

Francis Rodolf, the daughter of a husband and wife who headed the Neillsville Bank for nearly 20 years, passed away in Houston, Texas, on March 14. She was buried following funeral services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Monday, March 16.

The deceased was born on September 23, 1891, in Neillsville to W. L. and Mary (Dewhurst) Hemphill. She attended Neillsville Schools and the National Park Seminary in Washington, D.C. In 1915, she graduated from UW-Madison. On September 14, 1916, she married McKeriel Rodolf. The couple moved to Tulsa Oklahoma, where he was a practicing attorney. He passed away in 1947. A short time ago, Mrs. Rodolf moved to Houston to be near a daughter.

Mrs. Rodolf’s parents served as presidents of the Neillsville Bank. Her father headed the financial institution from 1909 until his death in 1930. Her mother then took over the presidency, serving from August 5, 1930, to January 22, 1947.

(Editor’s note – Mrs. Rodolf’s and her mother’s wedding dresses were recently on display at the Clark County Historical Society Museum in Neillsville.)

Surviving her are two daughters, Betty Rodolf Brooke of Rancho Santa Fe, California, and Patricia Rodolf Platter of Houston; and one son John Hemphill Rodolf, Tulsa.
