Hubing, Mr. and Mrs. George (60th – 4 April 1981)

George and Hazel Hubing observed their 60th wedding anniversary on April 26. An open-house reception was held at the Wildcat Inn from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with refreshments and a buffet luncheon served. The center-piece, a four-tier wedding cake with a bride and groom on top and artistically decorated, was made by Gerry Schultz, Neillsville.

George and Hazel Hubing were married on April 4, 1921, in Neillsville. Attendants at their wedding were Arthur Hubing and Marie Hubing. Marie Hubing, only, was present for the occasion. The Hubings now live at 118 Clay Street.

One daughter, Betty, now Mrs. William F. Lowe, Sr., was born to the couple. They have four grandchildren, William F. Lowe, Jr., Griff Lowe, Judy Lowe Lapp and Mary Lowe. There also are five great-grandchildren. The 60th wedding celebration of the Hubings was hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Out of town guests included Marie Hubing McCauley Halstead, West Union, Ia.; Gerald and Jane McCauley, Mark & Marney, Wayzata, Mn.; Lee and Leone Hubing and Lucille Hubing Revelle, Terry, Mt.; Greg Hubing, Miles City, Mt.; William Coppins and Zoe, Columbus, Oh.; Wendell and Carol Hubing, Granton; Bradley and Maureen Hubing, Stoughton; Artice (Hubing) Babka, Larry and Brian, Black River Falls; Charlotte (Hubing) Jacob and Bob, Port Edwards; William F. Lowe, Jr., Charlene and Todd, Racine; Griff Lowe and Sue Hojnacki, La Crosse; and Mary Jane Lowe, Des Plaines, Il.

Joining them were Perry and Kristie Lowe, Waukesha; Clyde and Jeanette Hubing, Colby; Wilmer and Florence Graf, Kiel; Walter and Martha Goetsch, Plymouth; Ray and Jeanette Theis, Random lake; Rosetta Meyer, Granton; Mr./Mrs. A. William Kanstrup (Margaret Woodford), Black River Falls; Laura Steinwand, Colby; Tom and Gladys Lund, Hamilton, Mt.; Glen and Hermie Carlson, Eau Claire; Harry and Sadie Hauge, Mosinee; Lloyd and Jean Zimmer, Marshfield; Flora Bartholomew, also Margit Anday, of Wausau; Joseph and Phyllis Esselman, Loyal; and Henry and Louise Markwardt, Wis. Rapids. Also attending were many relatives and friends from the Neillsville and Granton areas.
