Plutte, Emma P. (6 Dec 1878 – 24 Aug 1973)

Emma Pauline Plutte, 94, died Friday afternoon, August 24, 1973 at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Grove, with burial in Green Grove Cemetery.. The Rev. Steve Hasenstein officiated at the services.

Pallbearers were Vernon Boss, Robert Boss, Art Schultz, Herb Meyer, Vernon Sommer and Wilbert Miller.

Visitation was held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby on Sunday.

The former Emma Vogel was born in Germany on December 6, 1878. She came to this country with her parents and settled in Milwaukee, where she received her education, and was employed until her marriage.

She was married to William Plutte on March 28, 1921 in Colby. They farmed in the Town of Colby until their retirement around 1950, when they moved to Green Grove. Her husband preceded her in death in 1966. She had resided at the Neillsville Memorial Home since 1971.

Mrs. Plutte was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Grove for 52 years, being the oldest member at the time of her death, and the Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Helen Lichtfeldt, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mrs. Bertha Braun, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Mrs. Mary Dizolglio, St. Petersburg, Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
