Duff, Ann Arlene (6 June 1981)

The new Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dux are making their home in Neillsville after a June 6 California wedding. The couple, Leroy Paul Dux and Ann Arlene Duff, were united in marriage at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Fallbrook, California by the Rev. Samuel Kugler. Parents of the couple are Everett and Angelyn Dux, Rt. 4, Neillsville and John and Glaphry Duff, Fallbrook.

Serving as maid of honor was Sonya Duff, a sister of the bride from Fallbrook. She was joined in the bride’s party by June Duff, another sister from Fallbrook; Helen Olson, a sister from Ventura, California; and Linda Matsche, a friend from Oshkosh.

Serving as bestman was Kevin Hilliard, a friend of the groom from Neillsville. He was joined by William Dux, a brother of the groom from Neillsville; Lawrence Dux, another brother of Waukesha; and John R. Duff, the bride’s brother from Ventura. Ushering were Del Duff, a brother of the bride of the bride from Huntington Beach, California; and Roger Olson, a brother-in-law of the bride from Ventura.

Serving as ringbearer were Michael Dux, a nephew of the groom from Neillsville, while flower girl was Elaine Duff, a niece of the bride of Huntington Beach.

Offering special musical selections at the service were Andrea Porter of Oceanside, California, and Sonya Duff and Helen Olson.

The bride chose a gown of organza and lace which featured a long train and lace veil; she caried a bouquet of carnations and greenery. Her attendants wore gowns of brown and peach floral print with cream-colored backgrounds; they carried silk and dried flowers. The groom was attired in a brown marquis-styled tuxedo while his attendants wore brown regent-styled tuxedos.

Following the formal ceremonies, a reception was held at the church fellowship hall. Later a party was held at the Duff residence.

The couple announced wedding trip plans which included time in southern California, camping in the Grand Canyon and the visiting of friends and relatives in Colorado and Missouri. They will make their home in Neillsville.

The bride is a 1978 graduate of Fallbrook High School and attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. The groom is a graduate of Northwestern Preparatory School in Watertown and is a 1981 graduate of Northwestern College, also in Watertown. He will be teaching at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church School in Neillsville for the 1981-82 school year and then will attend seminary in Mequon the following year.

Attending the wedding in California were numerous friends and relatives from the Neillsville area as well as he bride’s great aunt and uncle from Massachusetts and the groom’s aunt, Mrs. Gary Witt, and daughter of Marshfield.
