Darge, William D. (25 February 1936 - 22 September 1983)

SPENCER - William D. Darge, 47, of Dearborn St., Spencer, died Thursday in the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Services will be Monday at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer. The Rev. Timothy A. Duesenberg of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, will officiate. Burial will be in East Thorp Cemetery, Thorp.

He was born February 25, 1936 in Thorp, to the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Clara Doege) Darge. He received his education in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School.

He served with the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1962. He was presently employed at Consolidated Badger Cooperative in Marshfield.

He married the former Pearl Ritter May 23, 1963 in Thorp. She survives along with six daughters, Paula, Connie and Billie Jo, all at home. Mrs. Allen (Mona) Ress of Spencer, Mrs. Richard (Vicky) Elpert of Unity and Mrs. Larry (Tammy) Coppadge of South Carolina; one son, Jeff Darge of Greenwood; two grandchildren; a brother, Donald Darge of Racine; and five sisters, Mrs. Walter (Viola) Graham of Stanley, Mrs. Dorothy Soper of Eau Claire, Mrs. Edna Pelino of Birchwood, Mrs. Stanley (Wilma) Sakowski of Thorp and Mrs. Sam (Elaine) Barscwick of Chicago.

He was also predeceased by a sister.
