Fischer, Esther A. (27 August 1901 - 26 September 1983)

OWEN -- Service for Mrs. Elwood (Esther A.) Fischer, 82, Route 1, Owen, who died Monday at her home, will be Thursday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen.

The Rev. Marshall H. Averbeck of Curtiss Alliance Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

The former Esther Hardrath was born August 27, 1901 in the Town of Green Grove, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman (Emma Moelle) Hardrath. She attended Loyal High School and Eau Claire Normal School. She was an elementary school teacher in rural Clark County.

She was married to Elwood Fischer August 31, 1923 in Owen. They farmed in the Town of Green Grove and observed their 60th wedding anniversary in August.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Beverly) Kallberg of Owen; two sons, Duane of Eau Claire and Glenn of Owen; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Louis Hardrath of Owen.

She was predeceased by four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
