Elmhorst, Elmer H. (01 June 1908 - 28 September 1983)

NEILLSVILLE - Services for Elmer H. Elmhorst, 75, Route 2, Neillsville, who died Wednesday at the Neillsville Memorial Home at Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Paul Forde will officiate. Burial will be in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville.

He was born June 1, 1908 at Herscher, Illinois, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich (Clara Dahling) Elmhorst. They moved to Granton where he received his education. He returned to Illinois and worked for several years and then moved back to Granton and farmed with his mother.

He married Gertrude Wegner October 26, 1940 in Neillsville and the couple farmed in the Town of York until retiring in 1962. Since then they resided in the Synder Lake area, Town of Hewitt. He had been a resident of Neillsville Memorial Home the past two years.

A member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Mr. Elmhorst is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Aurelia Gerber of Neillsville and Mrs. Ray (Louise) Tyler of Bellvedere, Illinois; and one brother, Melvin of Glenview, Illinois.

He was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
