Creg, William F. (24 Sep 1897 – 21 Jan 1978)

William F. Creg, age 80, of 313 South Harding Street, Owen, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 1978 at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 1978 at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. Rev. Loren Swanson officiated, and burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, with Van Huizen-Fritz American Legion Post #123 conducting military rites.

Pallbearers were Otto Becker, Frank Zalabsky, Leonard Himes, Curt Garett, Louis Novak and Dick Acker.

Mr. Creg was born on September 24, 1897 in Fond du Lac, and received his education there. In 1911 he moved to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and on October 25, 1923 he married the former Estella Himes in International Falls, Minnesota. They lived in St. Paul, and in 1940 they moved to Owen. He was employed by Foremost Foods Company in Owen.

Mr. Creg was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Van Huizen-Fritz American Legion Post #123 in Owen.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Russell of Tower, Minnesota, and Glen of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Vivian) Wry of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Jerry (Janice) Miller of Wauwatosa; one sister, Mrs. Ann Anderson of Fond du Lac, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
