Nelson, Mae (8 Feb 1908 – 5 Mar 1978)

Mrs. Arnold (Mae) Nelson, 70, of Owen, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 1978 at Memorial Hospital in Stanley, where she had been a patient for several weeks.

Services for Mrs. Nelson were held Wednesday, March 8, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. at Holway Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A. M. Jenkins of Mosinee officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were all grandsons, Scott, Steve, John, Dennis and Donald Hanson, and Jerry Boxrucker.

The former Mae Young was born February 8, 1908 in Athens, and attended area schools. She was married to Edward Woerner who preceded her in death. On July 5, 1952 she was married to Arnold Nelson in Milwaukee. He survives.

She moved to Milwaukee as a young girl and worked for the eagle Knit Milling Company there for 17 years. She lived in the Milwaukee area until had and her husband moved to Owen five years ago. She was a member of Holway Lutheran Church.

Surviving, besides her husband, are on daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dora) Moosburger of Wild Rose; one son, Edward Woerner of Cecil; two step-daughters, Mrs. Jane Hanson of Medford and Mrs. Pete (Ann) Boxrucker, Owen; three step-sons, Roger Nelson of Chilton, Morris Nelson, Withee, and Dale Nelson of Cudahy; 33 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ina Sova of Waterford, Mrs. Hugo (Eva) Schlick, Neosho, and Mrs. Mildred Francis of Amherst.

She was predeceased by one brother.
