Mr. and Mrs. Art Marcott, Curtiss, Wisconsin, announce the engagement of their daughter, Linda Lou, to Jon Wyatt Fleming of Thorp, Wisconsin. Linda is a graduate of the 1977 class of the Owen-Withee High School. She also attended the School of Cosmetology in Eau Claire, and is employed at the Primarily Pizza in Eau Claire. Jon is a 1976 graduate of Thorp and is attending the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and is presently employed at Houligans in Eau Claire.

Wedding plans are set for May 27, 1978.

Marcott, Linda Lou (27 May 1978)

Linda Lou Marcott, Eau Claire, daughter of Art and LaVerna Marcott, became the bride of Jon Wyatt Fleming of Eau Claire, son of Elvin and Viva Fleming, during a 1:00 p.m. ceremony at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss, on Saturday, May 27, 1978. Pastor Alan C. Minshall of St. Paul’s officiated at the afternoon service.

The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown and veil of Chantilly lace, fitted bodice with sleeves coming to points at the wrists, and with tiny lace covered buttons descending down the back. The neckline was completed with a new and satin cord insert appliques of lace flowers flowing into the nylon tulle floor length skirt. Her silk illusion fingertip veil was attached to a crown of pleated nylon tulle on rhinestones. Her bouquet consisted of daisies, yellow roses, and baby’s breath, with long lace streamers with daisies tied to the streamers.

Attending the bride were Rita Navarre, maid of honor, Julie Fleming, Margie Millinen, and Jayne Fleming as bridesmaids. Their gowns, fashioned of 100% polyester interlock colors, and they wore pastel blue, pastel pink, pastel peach and pastel yellow. They carried bouquets of baby’s breath, white and colored daisies to match their dresses, with ribbons and streamers.

The groom was dressed in a white tux, and was attended by Erick Sander, best man, Mike Egan, Jac Fleming, and Brian Marcott as groomsmen. Their attired was white tux with black slacks.

Ushers were Bruce Marcott, brother of the bride, and James Matzinger, a friend of the groom.

Sue Schutte rendered the music and Frank Parricle, Ann Rosemeyer and the groom’s mother, Viva Fleming, were vocalists.

A reception followed at 4:30 p.m. in Curtiss Hall.

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School and Eau Claire City College of Cosmetology, and is currently employed at Primarily Pizza.

The groom is s graduate of Thorp High School, and attends the UW-Eau Claire, and is employed at Houligans in Eau Claire.

After a wedding trip to the Black Hills, and Nebraska and Wyoming, they will reside at 417 Washington Street, Eau Claire.
