Greenwood H.S. Class of 1961 (20 Yr. - 1981)

The Greenwood High School Class of 1961 held their 20th reunion with 66 attending, including 38 classmates on Saturday, August 1, at the Legion Hall in Greenwood. Preceding the dinner, a moment of silence was held for the deceased member of our class, Val Krainz.

Following the dinner a short program was led by Harold Branstiter, Rockford, Ill. Tables were decorated with blue and white carnations, which was the class flower.

The flowers were awarded to the following people: First to reply, Brian King, Crystal Lake, Ill.; twentieth to reply, Ted Fetting, Loyal; Classmate coming the farthest, Frank Clouse, Phoenix, Az.; the one with the oldest child that was born in month of August, Irving Timmler, Greenwood; classmates having wedding anniversary closest to date of reunion in August, Corrine (Cenk) Liebzeit, and Ethel (Kippenhan) Schofield; one with the youngest child, Ken Horn, Willard; most recently married and the 20th classmate to arrive at reunion, Carol (Schofield) Weiland, Muskego; classmate with oldest car that is running and licensed, Ed Bomback, Milwaukee; and classmate with oldest child, Donna (Tompkins) Vine, Granton.

Flowers were presented to Harold Branstiters wife Janet and to Carol (Dillenbeck) Toburen. A carnation was presented to Kaye Grap to thank her for all the years that Sam and Kay put up with “us teenagers” when they moved to Greenwood Café. The door prize was won by Dave Weber, Spencer.
