Barth, Sandra K. (12 September 1981)

The Rev. Maynard Stokka officiated at the Zion American Lutheran Church nuptials for Sandra K. Barth and Terry J. Schmitz. The services were held in Granton on Saturday afternoon, September 12.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James Barth, Rt. 1 Chili, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schmitz, Rt. 1 Granton.

Special music at the service was provided by organist Sheila Steiner of Oshkosh and vocalist Kris Ross of Marshfield.

Bonnie Drescher, a friend of the bride from Marshfield, was maid of honor. She was joined by Amy Moede, a friend from Onalaska. On the groom’s side, Tim Cattanach was bestman and was joined by Scott Bliven; both were friends from Marshfield. Ushering were Tim Schmitz, the groom’s brother of Granton, and Mike Barth, the bride’s brother of Chili.

The bride chose a polyester organza gown featuring a Queen Anne neckline, chapel-length train and matching picture hat with veil. She carried a bouquet of yellow sweetheart roses and baby’ breath. Her attendants wore gowns in turquoise polyester with cowl backs and accordion-pleated skirts. Their bouquets were similar to the bride’s. The groom and his attendants were attired in gray Bedford-style tuxedos.

Following the nuptials, a reception, dinner and dance was held at the Village Plaza, Spencer. The couple then left on a trip to Northern Wisconsin.

Prenuptials evenings included a shower hosted by the bridesmaids and sisters-in-law, and a surprise shower given by fellow employees of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Granton High School and is employed as an insurance clerk for the Marshfield Clinic. He is a graduate of Marshfield Senior High and is employed by Lynn Dairy. The new Mr. and Mrs. Schmitz will make their home in Granton.
