Hinkelmann Named State FFA Officer (2022)

Devani Hinkelmann (l) of Loyal has been named the new Section Seven state FFA officer.
The last time Loyal had a state FFA officer was 17 years ago, when Andrea (Bloom) Slattery (r) was one.  Slattery is also Hinkelmann’s cousin.

Devani I Hinklemann of the Loyal FFA was elected to a year of service as the 2022-23 Section Seven state FFA officer during the 93rd Wisconsin FFA Convention held June 13-16 in Madison. Her advisor is Stephanie Donnerbauer. Devani’s parents are Harlan and Melissa Hinkelmann.

Devani will be attending UW-River Falls for agriculture marketing communications. After college, she plans on working at a local agriculture business to market its products and provide efficient customer service. She developed these goals during her supervised agricultural experience, where she worked at a local feed mill. During her three years of employment, she has gained the trust of her coworkers and has been given tasks with projected results.

Throughout Devani’s time in high school, she was quite involved in FFA. She attended many conferences including 212, Halftime, and state and national conventions. She participated in the livestock evaluation and milk quality and products career development events, and the quiz bowl and employment skills leadership development events.

Devani was able to put together the Discovering-AG Conference for the entire Section Seven, which taught students about the wide variety of careers in agriculture. She attended the Clark County livestock meeting to get the event approved as an educational credit for livestock sale participants.

“In the past six years, I have not only grown in my leadership and communications skills, but I have also developed confidence in who I am,” Devani stated.

She believes that everyone has a place in the FFA organization, and it is her mission to spread that message.
