Loyal Hosts Record-Breaking Blood Drive (2022)

According to the Red Cross, only 3% of eligible Americans donate blood, although someone needs blood every two seconds. Above, Harlin Sternitzky chooses to be part of that 3% and lends an arm at the recent Red Cross blood drive, held June 16, at the Loyal American Legion. “Our goal was to collect 52 units and we set a new record of 61 units. That is a potential of up to 183 lives saved. Amazing,” wrote blood drive coordinator Christine Geier in a press release. The next Loyal blood drive will be Aug. 16 from 12-5 p.m. at the Loyal Legion Hall. People may register by visiting www.redcrossblood.org.
