Schmidt, Lori M. (24 October 1981)

Neillsville is the home for the new Mr. and Mrs. Tim L. Thoma. He and Lorie M. Schmidt were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, October 24, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church ceremonies. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated. Parent of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schmidt, 1402 Lloyd St., Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. George Thoma, Rt. 3 Neillsville.

Special music at the service was offered by Tim Voigt and Rita Stewart.

In the wedding party were Debbie Brekke, Loyal, as maid of honor and Paul Miedziak of Houston, Texas, as bestman. Other bridesmaids were Carla Zilk, Shari Oldham and Nina Dale, all of Neillsville. Other groomsmen were Jim Henchen and Jeff Thoma, both of Neillsville, and George Miedziak of Milwaukee. Ushering were Brian Lezotte of Merrill and Todd Kesler of Greenwood.

The bride wore an organza gown with silk Venician lace accenting a Queen Anne neckline. Lace ruffles were used to flounce the hemline, which swept to a chapel-length train. Her circular veil was edged in silk Venician lace and was topped by a Juliet-styled cap. She carried a cascade of carnations and wood roses. Her attendants wore deep wine colored gowns with full pleated skirts and as overlay of lace on their bodices. They carried baskets of carnations and wood roses.

A reception and dance was held at the Neillsville Country Club. The couple then left on an undisclosed wedding trip.

The bride is a 1976 graduate of Neillsville High School. She is employed as a receptionist for Cahit Ozturk, M.D., in Neillsville. The groom is a 1970 graduate of Neillsville High School and in 1972 from District 1 Technical Institute in Eau Claire. He is employed by Gaier Construction of Neillsville.
