Schmitz, Janeen Ann (24 October 1981)

Janeen Ann Schmitz of Marshfield and Rodney Marvin Naedler of Granton were united in marriage on Satruday afternoon, October 24, ceremonies at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Larry Berger officiated. Parents of the couple are Marlin and Virginia Schmitz and Marvin and Mary Naedler, all of Granton.

Serving as maid of honor was Kay Schmitz, Granton. She was joined by Nancy Dahl, Nancy Naedler and Joyce Naedler, all of Granton, and Linda Brook of Marshfield. Best man was Larry Naedler of Granton. He was joined by Dean Hosely, Merle Rose and Terry Schmitz, all of Granton, and Mark Schmitz of Loyal. Ushering were Randy Wolf and Dennis Naedler.

Special music at the service was offered by Darla Reuth, Arnie Wolf and Laurette Bauer.

The bride chose an Edwardian-styled gown with embroidered lace high neckline and sweeping chapel train with lace-edged veil. She carried a colonial cascade of red sweetheart roses, chrysanthemums, pink daisies and baby’s breath. Her matron of honor wore a pink pleated dress while the other attendants wore primrose pleated dresses. They carried colonial bouquets of mauve and pink carnations with mums and wore burgundy forget-me-nots in their hair.

Following the ceremonies, the reception, dinner and dance was held at the Loyal American Legion Hall. The couple then left on a trip to the southwestern states.

The couple will make their home at rural Granton, where the groom is engaged in farming. He is a 1978 graduate of Granton High School. The bride is also a 1978 graduate of the same school and in 1979 from the State College of Beauty Culture in Wausau. She is employed as a cosmetologist for Jean’s Beauty Bar in Marshfield.
