Zickert, Cindy Kay (10 October 1981)

The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff united Cindy Kay Zickert and Michael Wortman in marriage on Saturday afternoon, October 10. St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the site for the nuptials. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Zickert, Rt. 3, Neillsville, are the parents of the bride while Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wortman of Dousman are the groom’s parents.

A sister of the bride, Linda Thorson, was the matron of honor. Dawn Zickert, the bride’s niece, and Virginia Drescher, a friend, completed the bride’s party. All are from Neillsville.

Serving as best man was Russell Wortman of Dousman. He was joined by Karl Wortman, also of Dousman, and Mark Wortman of Radisson. All are brothers of the groom. Ushering were Gregory Zickert, the bride’s nephew, and James Sikora, a brined; both are from Neillsville.

Special music at the service included “The Wedding Prayer” and “ The Lord’s Prayer,” offered by Beth and Paul Tess.

The bride chose a floor-length gown with lace bodice, a scalloped neckline with seed pearls, stand-up collar, flounced skirt and chapel-length train. Her veil was of the walking length and was edged in Venician lace and attached to a Juliet-style cap. She carried a bouquet of beige begonias, burgundy roses and baby’s breath. The groom and his attendants were attired in black-trimmed gray tuxedos with white ruffled shirts.

A post-service dinner was held at the Wildcat Inn, followed by a dance at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. Prenuptial events included a shower given by Linda Thorson.

The couple will make their home at rural Neillsville. The new Mrs. Wortman attended Neillsville High School and Mid-State Technical Institute in Marshfield. She is employed by Weinbrenner Shoe of Marshfield. Her husband is a graduate of Kettle Morraine High Scholl and attended UW-Milwaukee. He is employed as a truck driver for Barr’s Animal Foods.
