Doug Lueth and Norman Beran, members of the Abbotsford FFA Chapter, received
State Farmers Degree at the annual state convention of the Wisconsin Association
of FFA at Green Lake this past week.
The State Farmer Degree is the highest degree of membership that a state
association of FFA may confer upon its members. The awarding of this degree is
limited to two percent of the total state membership. The award is based on
degree of participation in FFA activities, scholarship, leadership, work
experience and/or productive projects owned or operated by the member.
Lueth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lueth, Route 1, Dorchester, and Beran is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beran, Route 1, Athens.
The Abbotsford Chapter also received a “Superior” rating from the state
association in the National Chapter Award Program. This is the second time that
the chapter has received the award. The award is based upon the scope and
variety of activities that are accomplished by the local chapter for the years.
Alan Prestebak and Dudley Blair were on hand to receive the award. They also
served as official delegates to the convention.
