Cendt, Nellie (26 May 1874 – 8 Aug 1974)

Mrs. Nellie Cendt, 906 Harrison, Blvd., Wausau, mother of Mrs. Howard (Grace) Merwin of Abbotsford, died Thursday, August, 8, 1974 at age 100.

The Rev. Frank Huetter, Wausau, conducted the funeral service held Saturday at the Polnaszek Funeral Home. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The former Helen Permille Mantor was born May 26, 1874 at Winneconne, Wisconsin, where she married George Cendt on September 12, 1898. The couple lived at Park Falls until 1908, when they moved to Abbotsford on a farm in the Town of Hull, Marathon County. In 1938 they moved to Wausau. Her husband preceded her in death July 20, 1964.

Mrs. Cendt was a member of Elat (Underwood) Circle of the Presbyterian Church at Wausau.

Other survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Mable Butzlaff, Wausau; four sons, Howard Cendt and Fred Cendt, also of Wausau; Lester Cent, Evansville, Wyoming, and Raymond Cendt, Bayfield. Six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
