Hannan, Raymond J. (16 August 1901 – 22 January 1992)

Raymond J. Hannan, 90, Neillsville, died at 12:30 p.in. Wednesday, January 22,1992 at Neillsville Memorial Home.

Services were held at 10:30 a.in. Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville, with the Reverend Joseph N. Henseler officiating. Music was provided by singers, St Mary's Choir and Jill Lyons, and Virginia Gassen, the accompanist. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Howard "Skip" Sturtz Ill, Dennis, Daryl, David and Peter Hannan and Tom Meyer. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Sturtz and Mark Lyons.

Raymond Hannan was born August 16, 1901, in Rubican, to the late Peter and Katherine (Kiley) Hannan. He was educated at Loyal arca schools. After his education, he famed with his parents in the Loyal area. He married Margaret Garbisch October 12, 1926, in Loyal. She died January 2,1989.

He and his wife took over the family farm in 1943 and farmed until retirement in 1973. They then moved to Neillsville, and he had resided here until the time of his death.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He served as a board member for a rural Loyal area school for many years, beginning in 1943.

Survivors include one son, James of Loyal; four daughters, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Sturtz of Neillsville, Mrs. Richard (Annette) deLorimier of Monterey, CA; Mrs. William G. (Rita) Meyer of
Verona and Mrs. Charles (Therese) Vesel of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Mrs. Florence Bertz of Loyal; 27 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by one son, Robert; one daughter, Marcelene Lyons; one brother; and one sister.
