Holtz, Linda (7 Sep 1974)

Mount Olive Lutheran Church at Madison was the scene of the wedding of Linda Holtz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Holtz, Abbotsford, to Ray Mannetter, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mannetter.

The Rev. William Rohlwing officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, September 7, 1974. Mrs. Doris Marquardt, Madison, provided the organ music.

The bride appeared wearing a flowing ivory gown of bridal jersey with Venice lace, which edged the neckline, empire waist and cuffs. The circular skirt fell into a chapel length train. Her tiered illusion veil was attached to a jersey and pearl turban, and she carried a cascade of mint green and white carnations.

Attending the bride were her sisters, Miss Nancy Holtz, Minneapolis, and Miss Sharon Holtz, Eau Claire. They wore floor length A-Line gowns of Nile green crepe with matching Cluny lace trim. The gowns were fashioned with a Cluny lace yoke, high neckline and short puffed sleeves with lace ruffles. Their crisscross crepe sashes ended with back streamers. Matching straw picture hats with ivory colored satin ribbon band and streamers completed their ensembles. Each carried a colonial bouquet of fall colored carnations, pom poms and baby’s breath.

Vance Mannetter, Verona, attended his brother as best man, and the groomsman was Roger Babler, Madison, friend of the bridegroom.

Following the ceremony a reception and dinner were held at the VFW Hall at Madison.

The bride is a 1969 graduate of Abbotsford High School and School of Cosmetology at Eau Claire, and is employed as an insurance rater at General Casualty Company, Madison. Her husband is a 1963 graduate of Belleville High School, and is employed by the Bowman Dairy Company.

The couple is making their home at 1811 Greenway Cross, Madison.

Out of town guests were from Abbotsford, Stevens Point, Verona, Peoria, Middleton, Belleville, Monroe, Frederic, New Glarus, Milwaukee and Marshalltown, Iowa.
