Koepke, Carol J. (16 March 1941 – 13 October 2022)

Carol J. Koepke, 81, Marshfield, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Carol was born on March 16, 1941, in Chili, the daughter of Edwin and Adelia (Lustig) Grobe. She attended elementary school in Chili and was a 1959 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to Ronald E. Koepke on May 27, 1961, at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili.

In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Carol was the secretary for Christ Lutheran Church for 23 years. She also worked at Heinzen Printing and assisted Ron in managing rental properties. Carol was a very active grandmother, supporting her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, walking, boating, card playing, and was a Badgers and Packers fan. She was a great cook and the most vibrant person in a crowd. She was a supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ron and two daughters, Sara (Scott) Wissmueller of Foothill Ranch, CA and Sally (Shane) Butzow of Houston, TX. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ryan, Reece, Rachel and Bailey. She is further survived by two brothers, Louis (Diane) Grobe of the Upper Peninsula, MI and Edward (Loretta) Grobe of the Lower Peninsula, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Florence in infancy, Verna (Leo) Roehl and a brother Elmer Grobe.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Chris Schwanz will officiating. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes.  A visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Marshfield.

Memorials may be designated in Carol’s name to Immanuel Lutheran School.
