Dittner, Norbert E. (15 October 1928 – 14 October 2022)

Norbert E. Dittner, 93, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Norbert was born on October 15, 1928, to Ernest and Marie (Bushman) Dittner. He married Mary Ellen Weix on September 16, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby.

Norbert was in the cattle and hog business, and he later worked at the Marshfield Co-op.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Ellen and their daughters, Terry (David) Theurer of Tucson, AZ, Sharon (Barry) Yost of Marshfield, Rosanne (Robert) Frank of Spencer, and Myra (Rick) Westberg of Unity. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister Geraldine (Robert) Schweiss of Nisswa, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Beverly Dittner, and a sister Dorothy Smilde.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time and a Knights of Columbus rosary service will be at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery, Town of Sherman, Clark County. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
