Andruszkiewicz, Leon Edward (16 April 1934 – 14 October 2022) With Flag

Leon Edward Andruszkiewicz, 88, of Thorp, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022, at Care Partners Assisted Living Facility in Eau Claire, with his family by his side.

Leon was born on April 16, 1934, in Thorp to Wanda (Przybylski) and Leon Andruszkiewicz. He grew up in the Thorp area and graduated from Thorp High School. On September 11, 1954, he married Lorraine (Dahm). They lived in the Lublin area to raise their family.

During his life, Leon undertook many professions including dairy farmer, cheesemaker, hog farmer, foundry worker at Presto, Lublin village president, wastewater operator, volunteer fireman, restaurant chef & manager, postal worker and medical transport driver. He also served his country in the National Guard.

Leon was a very loving and caring husband and father and was always there for his family. He loved conversation and always took an interest in what was going on in the lives of those he encountered. He often left a memorable impression with people with which he came in contact. Leon loved to cook and enjoyed his time managing Club 73, where he made many friends. He was dearly loved by his family & friends and will be deeply missed.

Leon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine; one son, Donald Andruszkiewicz of Paisley, FL; four daughters, Donna Andruszkiewicz of Thorp, Diane Gurklis (Joe Brost) of Thorp, Debbie (Steve) Grover of Clearwater, FL, Darla (Dennis "Chopper") Anderson of Eau Claire; Donald's children: Laura, Donnie, Alexis, Crystal; Diane's children: Jackie, Jamie, Scott; Darla's children: Nick, Cody, Shawna; brother, Marion (Sheila) Andruszkiewicz of Gilman, Frank (Marlys) Andruszkiewicz of Thorp, Louis Andruszkiewicz of Thorp. Leon is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Wanda Andruszkiewicz; sister, Marie Peetz; brother-in-law, Bernard Peetz; sister-in-law, Karen Andruszkiewicz.

Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 201 E Rusch Street, Thorp, WI on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour before the service. A Celebration of Life will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
