Bernitt, Frank J. (25 Apr 1881 - 18 Apr 1975)

Services were held for Frank J. Bernitt, 93, Abbotsford, on Sunday, April 20, 1975 at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, with Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiating.

Mr. Bernitt died at Colonial Nursing Home, Colby, on Friday, April 18 at 10:30 a.m. He was buried in Abbotsford Cemetery.

Born on April 25, 1881 in Chippewa Falls, Mr. Bernitt received his education in Medford schools. He moved to Medford as a youth and was a construction superintendent. He moved to Abbotsford in 1940 and was a resident since then. He served on the Abbotsford Police Force for one and one half years before becoming superintendent of the water department. He retired in 1954 at the age of 73.

He married the former Selma Jacobi Brunner on March 18, 1932 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Dorchester. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford.

Mr. Bernitt is survived by his wife and two sisters, Miss Ida Bernitt and Mrs. Jessica Gallup, both of Medford.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Chester, Jacobi, Ervin Jacobi, Gilbert Jacobi, Lawrence Jacobi, Arlen Utke and Harold Utke.
