Halopka, Linda (2 May 1975)

Linda Halopka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Halopka, Dorchester, became the bride of Edward Beyerl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Beyerl, Colby, at a 6:30 p.m. ceremony Friday evening, May 2, 1975, performed by Father Len Stashek at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan. Providing the wedding music were Mrs. Ruth Lefter(?) and Clyde Schreiber.

The bride appeared wearing a traditional gown of organza with full chapel train. The studded bodice featured a shallow V-neckline of pleated cloth outlined with floral Venice lace and Bishop sleeves trimmed with Venice appliques. The full skirt was detailed with scattered Venice medallions. A bouffant veil attached to a pearl trimmed floral cap was centered with organza bows. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations with baby’s breath.

Sarah Beyerl, sister of the groom, was the maid of honor, and Vona Emmerich and Denis Jahnke, both friends of the bride, were bridesmaids.

The attendants wore sheer blue floral print gowns with fitted halter and empire bodice defined with moss velvet ribbon with a bow at the center. A long sleeved bolero jacket edged with ruffled white Cluny lace was worn over the dress. Rippled brim picture hats trimmed with white embroidered bands and satin bows completed their costumes. They carried bouquets of white carnations tinted and trimmed in blue.

Best man was Rod Romens, and groomsmen were Gene and Jim Halopka, the bride’s brothers Ken Beyerl, Colby, and Gary Halopka, Dorchester ushered the guests to their seats.

Following the ceremony a reception, dinner and dance were held at Dorchester Memorial Hall.

The bride is a student at Colby High School and her husband, a 1973 graduate of that school, is engaged in the business of farming.

The couple will reside at Rt. 1, Colby.
