A pre-nuptial shower was held in honor of Jane Fricke at the home of Nancy Dodge, Dorchester. Guests included Marge Blasel, Wilma Neuenfeldt and Donna, Madeline Phums, Ellen Recore, Carol Tollin, Rochelle Fricke, and Mrs. Jim Arneson. She was presented with a corsage from the group. Games were played.

Lunch was serve with a cake decorated for the occasion.

Fricke, Jane Marie (6 Jun 1975)

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fricke, Colby, was the scene of their daughter, Jane Marie’s, wedding to Bruce Byron Tollin, Dorchester, Friday, June 6, 1975. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tollin, Dorchester.

The 1 p.m. ceremony was performed by Rev. Robin Fink.

The bride’s gown was a white brocade princess style trimmed with pearls. She wore a heart shaped pearl necklace, a gift of the bridegroom. Her shoulder length veil was attached to a pearl and crystal trimmed tiara. The bridal bouquet was made up of yellow roses, carnations, white stephanotis and lily of the valley.

Carol Drier, Colby, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Mrs. David Tollin, Rockford, Illinois, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, was the bridesmaid.

The attendants were dressed in blue gowns fashioned with scoop necklines and rippling cape sleeves. They wore blue and white picture hats and yellow roses. Each carried a long stemmed yellow rose and wore a cloisonne necklace, a gift of the bride.

David Tollin, Rockford, Illinois, the bridegroom’s brother, and LeRoy Fricke, brother of the bride, was groomsman.

Punch was served immediately after the ceremony at the bride’s parent’s home.

A 4 p.m. dinner was served at the VFW, Colby, followed by a reception and dance in the evening for 175 guests.

The couple graduated in 1975 from Colby High School.

Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will be at home at Route 2, Colby, where the bridegroom is engaged in farming.
