Sachse, Mr./Mrs. William (Gold – 22 Jun 1975)

Mr. and Mrs. William Sachse, Colby, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 22, 1975 at the VFW Hall, Colby.

The former Lena Kowalk, daughter of William and Bertha Kowalk, was born July 30, 1901, in the Town of Colby.

Mr. Sachse, the son of Louis and Rosa Sachse, was born August 17, 1901 in Sheboygan County. In 1908 the family moved to the Town of Hull on a farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Sachse were married June 22, 1925 at the Colby Zion Lutheran Church Colby, by Rev. A. Kirchhoefer. They have one daughter, Mrs. Otis (Arlyle) Kath, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

They lived at the family farm until moving to Colby in June 1974.

Members of the couple original wedding party, Mrs. Floyd Eder, Otto Kowalk and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wolk attended the celebration, along with 125 friends and relatives.

A program was presented by Pastor Steven Hasenstein and five year old Tod Kath san “Jesus in the Morning.”

Mrs. Sachse sore a corsage of yellow roses and Mrs. Sachse had a yellow rose boutonniere. A three tiered wedding cake decorated the table.

People attended from Spencer, Colby, Loyal, Unity, Clarkston, Washington, Abbotsford, Plymouth, Marshfield, Ridgeland, Barron, Owen, North Fond du Lac, Menomonie, Wisconsin Rapids, Turtle Lake, Sheboygan, Newton, Kiel, New Holstein, Oshkosh, Reedsville and Phoenix, Arizona.
