Schwantes, Anna (14 May 1888 – 17 Jul 1975)

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Schwantes, 87, Colby, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, with the Rev. Robin Fink officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Unity.

Mrs. Schwantes died Thursday, July 17, 1975 in a Colby nursing home. Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schwantes was born May 14, 1888 in the Town of Brighton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Williamson. She was married on December 16, 1914, in the town of Brighton, to Andrew Westberg. He died in September 1936. She was married to Herman Schwantes on October 19, 1943. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Orville, Colby, Erland, Pineville, Michigan, and Harold, North Bend, Oregon; a daughter, Mrs. Lester Bruesewitz, Spencer, a stepson, Theodore, Texas; two step-daughters, Mrs. Marlyn Viegut, Athens, and Mrs. Ervin Schmidt, Stratford; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
