Smith, Cheryl L. (12 June 1982)

Cheryl L. Smith and Joseph J. Galetka were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, June 12. Judge Michael W. Brennan conducted the service, which was held at the home of the groom’s parents, Charles and Lois Galetka, Rt. 4 Neillsville. The bride’s parents are Edgar and Lois Piel of Augusta.

Merri Nauman, a friend of the bride from St. Paul, Minn., served as maid of honor. She was joined by JoAnn Dunlap, the bride’s sister of Augusta. Dale Hagen was bestman while Bill Volland was groomsman; both are friends of the groom from Neillsville.

Gary and Margie Schlewitz offered special music for the service.

The bride chose a handmade gown she had fashioned, which was crème-colored satin and lace. She carried a bouquet of silk flowers, which she had also created. Her attendant wore a light blue, long gown and carried a silk flower bouquet. The groom was attired in a three-piece light bluer suit and his attendant wore a blue leisure suit.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Galetka home. That evening a dance was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. The new Mr. and Mrs. Galetka will make their home on Rt. 4 Neillsville, where they will farm.
