Dessloch, Nathan L. (8 Feb 1900 – 24 Jul 1975)

Nathan L. Dessloch, age 75, Colby, died July 24, 1975, in Colby.

Funeral services were held July 27 at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

The Rev. Frank Brickl of Elmwood officiated. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Colby.

Pallbearers were Lester Willner, Raymond Brehm, Woodrow Tesmer, Homer Smith, John Coates and Jerry Vrana.

Mr. Dessloch was born February 8, 1900 in the Town of Beaver, Clark County, and attended the Loyal schools.

He worked for the railroad for several years as a telegrapher, and was in business with the H. J. Welsch Coal Sales and Cartage Company in Colby until his retirement.

He was a Colby resident for the past 50 years.

Mr. Dessloch served as alderman for the city for several years. He was a member of the Colby Memorial Cemetery Association, and held secretarial and trustee offices, as well as other offices. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.

He married the former Nola Welsch on January 24, 1924, in Colby. They observed their golden wedding anniversary on January 24, 1974.

He is survived by his widow, a brother, Dr. E. M. Dessloch, Prairie du Chien, and two nieces. A sister preceded him in death.

Friends and relatives attended the funeral from North Chicago, Waukegan, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Racine, Prairie du Chien, Menasha, Brookfield and Wausau.
