Pawlak, Raymond Lee (4 April 1951 – 27 December 2022)

Raymond Lee Pawlak, 71, of Thorp, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, after
complications following a hemicolectomy.

He was born April 4, 1951, the son of Adam and Marie (Burzynski) Pawlak. Raymond married the love of his life, Barbara Premeau on May 15, 1971, and from there they built their lives together and their family. Ray was a proud Teamsters employee at Blue Moon Dairy in Thorp for 24 years and after it closed, he worked to finish high school at 49 years old, graduating with his GED the following year before going back to work at Weather Shield, Honeywell, and Birchwood, retiring in 2013 at the age of 62.

Raymond was one of a kind. His wife, family, and friends were everything to him. He would do
just about anything for anyone with no expectation of anything in return. He enjoyed hunting
and fishing, dominos, and playing cards for hours with his family and friends. He loved feeding
his birds and trips to Mondeaux Dam for spring water, Saturdays to the county recycling
center, an occasional Starbucks, or working puzzles with Barb. Most of all Raymond enjoyed
time with others. His grandchildren were especially important to him, and he was so very
proud of each of them.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children Chad (Jo Ann) Pawlak, Nannette (Joel)
Ganotisi, his grandchildren Kayla (Kelvin) Waichulis, Chad Pawlak Jr. (CJ), Rose Mahina
Ganotisi, and his great grandson Masen Lee. Raymond is survived by his sister Jean Skovera,
his brothers Jerry Pawlak and Dennis Pawlak. He is also survived by many special cousins,
nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Adam and Marie, his brother Larry Pawlak and
sister Fran Gordon.

A gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Raymond in a way to best honor him; with
friends and family and those lives that he touched, with a picnic, campfire, and lots of love and
laughter at Diamond Lake.

The family would like to thank those that have reached out during this difficult time as well as
to thank the medical team at Sacred Heart Hospital, especially the nursing staff that was so
very kind to him during his time with them. In lieu of flowers, condolences can be sent to his
wife directly or to Celebration of Life Center in Altoona.

Our lives are all better for having had Raymond, he was deeply loved and will be truly missed
now that he has went to live with Jesus.
