Schelling, Mary M. (30 Aug 1975)

Sacred Heart Chapel, Eau Claire, was the setting for the marriage ceremony of Mary M. Schelling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Schelling of Abbotsford, and Thomas Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Johnson, Milwaukee. The ceremony was held at 6:30 p.m. on August 30, 1975.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Officiating at the ceremony were the Rev. Robert Johnson, Eau Claire and Rev. Ernest Northquest, Milwaukee.

The bride wore an empire styled ivory gown of organza with the yoke of bodice and back trimmed with Alencon lace. The gown’s neckline, bishop sleeves and a chapel train featured a lace trim. The Camelot headpiece was covered with lace and long mantilla trimmed with matching lace on edge.

Marlene Schelling, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Dennis Schelling, Abbotsford, Carol Christensen, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Randall Blair, Abbotsford. They wore formals of multi-colored floral printed sheer in ivory over ivory taffeta, styled with a lace ruffled V-neckline in ivory. They wore rippled brimmed ivory picture hats and carried a long stemmed pink rose.

Flower girl, Hallie Suttner, Abbotsford, wore a dress identical to that worn by the bridesmaids. She, too, carried a long stem rose. Craig Schelling, Abbotsford, was the ring bearer.

Jay Mabry, Clarendon Hill, Illinois, was the best man. Groomsmen were Dennis Schelling, Abbotsford, Phil Johnson, Bailingbrook, Illinois, Dave Adams, Denver, Colorado. The ushers were Robert Pfanenstill, Denver, Colorado, and Juslavea Paz, Lima, Peru.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served, pool side, at the Ramada Inn. A reception and dance in the Ramada Room followed the dinner.

The bride is a 1971 graduate of the Abbotsford High School, and a 1975 graduate of the UW-Eau Claire with a BA degree in education.. The groom is a graduate of Pulaski High School, Milwaukee, and UW-Eau Claire with a BS degree in microbiology. He is completing his Master’s degree in microbiology in the fall semester.
