The Rev. Keith Schoerlucke united Susan Marie Schmidt and Peter Stephen Jecevicus during a candlelight ceremony at the United Methodist Church, Colby, on Saturday, September 27, 1975 at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Schmidt, Colby, are the parents of the bride. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Jecevicus, Colby.

Bob Olson sang “A Time for us,” “Follow Me” and “The Wedding song.” Ronda Buss was the organist.

The bride wore an empire waist gown of sheer nylon, lined with taffeta. It was embroidered with white lilies of the valley and featured a high neckline and puff sleeves. A ruffle bordered the hemline. Her fingertip veil was trimmed with matching lace. She carried a bouquet of yellow and orange roses, yellow carnations, lily of the valley and baby’s breath.

Maid of honor was Jean Suckow. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ronald Schmitt, Jeri Schmidt and Marlene Jecevicus, all of Colby.

Their orange colored gowns were of single knit polyester, styled with an empire waist and puff sleeves. The bodice was accented with embroidered yellow flowers trimmed with white lace. They carried a long stemmed orange and yellow rose.


Best man was Brad Johnson, Sussex. Ronald Schmitt, Colby, Bill Schmidt, Eau Claire, and Rocky Schmidt, Colby, were groomsmen. John Schmidt and Larry Buchta were ushers.

A lunch, reception and dance were held at the Sword.

The bride is 1970 graduate of Colby High School, and graduated from the City College of Cosmetology, Eau Claire. She is the manager of Holly’s Style Shoppe.

The bridegroom graduated in 1967 from Colby High School and is engaged in farming.

After a trip to Door County and Illinois, the couple will reside in Colby.
