Irving Goessl observed his 90th birthday last Wednesday. He and Mrs. Goessl live on a farm in the Town of Hoard, adjacent to the farm where he was born 90 years ago. His son, Herbert, now operates the home place. Mr. Goessl is in fairly good health and continued to drive his car.

A group of relatives and friends gathered at the Goessl home Wednesday night for a birthday party. Two daughters, Sister Celine and Mrs. Roy Gutenberger, Tomahawk were there on Tuesday, which was Mrs. Goessl’s birthday

Goessl has been interested in community affairs for many years. He served as secretary-treasurer for the Cloverhill Cheese Facotry for 28 years, was chief ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters for 27 years, was director for the Clark Electric Cooperative for eight years, and president of the Hoard Farmer’s Union Local for five years. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Dorchester Senior Citizens.

Goessl has two sons by his first married to the former Mary Stoiber, who died a few years after their marriage. He later married Theresa Decker, November 10, 2921. They observed their goden wedding four eyars ago.

The couple has, besides the two sons, Clarence and Orlando, Medford, the following children: Herbert, on the home farm, Ten, Marshfield, Peter, Curtiss, Sister Celine and Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Gutenberger, Tomahawk, Mrs. John (Mercedes) Kapfhamer, Stetsonville, and Mrs. Ray (Marcella) Beeter, Benson, Arizona. They have 52 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. One daughter is deceased.
