Sulik, Verena (17 Oct 1898 – 13 Feb 1977)

Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 for Mrs. Joseph (Verena) Sulik, age 78, Abbotsford.

The Rev. Emil Hodnik will officiate at the services to be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Burial will follow in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sulik died Sunday, February 13, 1977 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Born October 17, 1898 in Oconomowoc, the former Verena Langbecker married Joseph Sulik May 28, 1919 in Abbotsford.

She lived in Athens and Abbotsford, and later farmed in rural Curtiss until 1924. They moved to rural Dorchester and farmed until 1952, when they moved back to Abbotsford. She lived at 509 Second Street for the past 27 years.

She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May 1969.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Neva) Decker, West Allis, Mrs. James (Jocile) Peterson, Superior, and Mrs. Frank (Mary Ann) Gebert, Wausau; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild and one step brother.
