Jantsch, John (19 May 1885 – 18 Feb 1977)

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, 1977 for John Jantsch, age 91, Dorchester.

Officiating at the 11 a.m. services held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester was the Rev. James F. Schaefer. Burial followed in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe C. Weber, Jose Helfert, Nick Helfert, Ed Bittner, Frank Schopper and Lenhard Bischoff.

Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jantsch passed away at Memorial Hospital in Medford, Friday, February 18.

He was born May 19, 1885 in the Town of Holton and had never married. He lived in the Town of Holton until 1953, when he moved to rural Athens. In 1971 he moved to Dorchester and made his home with his brother William.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its’ Order of Foresters.

Mr. Jantsch is survived by four sisters, Anna Jantsch and Mrs. Hattie Pilgram, both of Watertown, Minnesota, Mrs. Emma Gustafson, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mrs. Rose Kumbera, Seattle, Washington, and two brothers, Joseph, Spokane, Washington, and William, Dorchester.

One brother and sister preceded him in death.
