Priem, Lawrence E. (7 Mar 1904 – 19 Feb 1976)

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 22, 1976 for Laurence E. Priem, age 71, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. The Rev. Robin Fink officiated at the 2 p.m. rites. Burial was in Sand Flat Cemetery, Smith County, Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Priem died February 19 at the Colonial House of Colby, where he had been a resident for the past two and a half weeks.

Mr. Priem was born March 7, 1904 in Otranto, Iowa, and received his education at Weyerhauser and Ladysmith, and at the Chicago Technical School. He taught school in North Dakota and worked on the Penn Central Railroad out of Chicago.

He married the former Evelyn Pokallus on October 10, 1925 in Chicago. The Priems observed their golden wedding anniversary in October.

Mr. Priem was in the trucking business before retirement in 1971.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Allene) Odum, Tyler, Texas, and one son, Carl, St. Petersburg, Florida; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Della McCraken, Chicago, Mrs. Linde Moddy, Sharon, Mrs. Eleanora Sobkobick, Chicago, and two brothers, Carl Weyerhauser, and Ray, Minneapolis.
