THORP _ With only lettermen graduated and eight returning from the 10-10 team, Thorp's girls team this year has what Thorp's boys team doesn't, and that's experience.

The coach (Bill Harycki) had these comments on some of the returning stalwarts:

Kandi Syryczuk, at 6 feet 1/2 inch she's quick and a tough competitor....good jumper (26-inch vertical leap)...three year starter, led league in rebounding two years, averaged 19 points and 14 rebounds as junior and was fifth in Century Club.

Becky Hoffman, Good ball-handler, all-round player, averaged 13 points a game, smart player, handles pressure well and is tough defensively.

Lori Truckey, playmaker, good offensive player, outside shooter, will work on her defense, good off-season worker.

Thersea Rhyner, good jumper, quick, excellent outside shooter, has been sharp in practice.

Diana Stroinski, started as freshman, very aggressive, 21-inch vertical leap, very unselfish, with experience will be one of best in conference.

Dana Jarocki, sophomore, hard worker, still learning but will play her share.

Other players: Sandy Jacks, Paulette Barski, Carol Plechacek and Kathy Miller.

Group photo also included Debra Wnek, Jan Stuttgen, Renee Penk, Jill Turenne, Sheila Nelcher, Doris Haas, Karen Rademaker.
