1938 Basketball Team

Three weeks after the football season was over the basketball season started.  This being the major sport there was a fairly good-sixed squad reporting.

 

The team entered the "Class C Tournament" at Abbotsford, but was defeated by the strong Owen team in the first rounds and by Granton only by a narrow margin of 18-15.

Football

The Football call was given the second week in September and was answered by a small but vigorous squad.  The boys were put through the usual routine of shaping and drilling.

On October 1, 1937, Coach Schwahn selected for the starting line-up against Unity, D. Moore and C. Braun, ends; G. Pakiz and M. Alperstett, guards; H. Jackson, center.  the ball carriers were V. Mech, L. H; G. Moore, R. H.; A. Lyons, Q. B. and Captain; and M. Mech, F B.  On the reserve list N. Jolivette, E. Ellingson, A. Olson, H. Behrens, C. Susa, F. Pakiz and D. Johnson.
