The high school commencement exercises will be conducted in the gymnasium of the school on Wednesday, May 23, 1934, at 8 p.m.

The Senior class this year consists of 35 youths from Owen and the surrounding community.  Two are from the town of Hoard, two from Hixon, one from Mayville, seven from Longwood and the balance from the Owen School District.  The majority of the class started their high school career here four years ago, very few have transferred from other schools.

G. W. Bannerman of Wausau schools will deliver the commencement address.  Mr. Bannerman is an able speaker and his talk, “Mighty Power,” should please the audience.

In computing the averages of the subjects studied to determine the valedictorian of the class it was found that Catherin Merriman and Eddie Cass had identical percentages and grade points.  They will share the honor together.  Each have made exceptionally good grades during the four years, and at the same time have taken active part in many of the extra curricular activities.

The class roll is: Effie Afrank, James Barager, Eddie Cass, Phyllis Calhoun, Rosemary Carter, Elizabeth Coan, Dorothy Driscoll, Beverly Duncan, Edna Earl, Mildred Elstrom, Jerome Flaatten, Loranie Fritz, Raymond Hansen, Nerissa Hoffman, Orpha Hull, Eva Hunerjager, Florence Kessenich, Raymond Kosharek, Irene Koslowski, Helen Kovalaski, Claire Krom, Lionell Legault, Geneva Marking, Eleanore Mauel, Catherine Merriman, Leslie Nikkinen, Wayne Pape, Margaret Protor, Mary Roller, Edna Smith, Harriet Simonson, Arthur Stadler, Elizabeth St. John, Anton Vaitonis.
